Dr. Elio Rossi

Specialist in Infectious Diseases | Homeopathy and Integrative Medicine Expert

Dr. Elio Rossi is a physician specialized in infectious diseases and has been practicing homeopathy for over 40 years. Internationally recognized for his contributions to the development of homeopathy, Dr. Rossi is a pioneering educator, author, and advocate for the integration of complementary medicine into modern healthcare systems.

For over twenty years, he has been actively working to ensure the recognition and integration of homeopathy and other complementary medicine approaches into the public healthcare system in Italy. Thanks to his leadership, complementary medicine clinics have been opened in 91 hospitals across the Tuscany region, supported by national and regional legislation.

Dr. Rossi served on the Italian Ministry of Health’s National Commission for Complementary Medicine (1996–2001) and has been a member of the Tuscany Region’s Complementary Medicine Commission since 1998. He is the director of the Homeopathy Clinic at Lucca Hospital and is also responsible for the Complementary Medicine and Diet Clinic in Oncology within Local Health Unit 2.

He is the co-author of the book “Complementary Medicine for Cancer Patients” published in 2015, and has been the Scientific Director of the Medicina Naturale journal since 1998. Between 2004 and 2015, he wrote a weekly column titled “The Other Medicine” in the RSalute supplement of the newspaper La Repubblica.

Internationally, Dr. Rossi has been serving as a consultant for United Nations projects (UNOPS and ART/UNDP) since 1999. He also teaches postgraduate and specialist-level courses at leading Italian universities, including those in Florence, Bologna, Pisa, Siena, and G. Marconi University in Rome.

In 2012, he co-chaired the 5th European Congress for Integrative Medicine held in Florence, and he currently serves as the Scientific Representative for the Tuscany Region in the Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Cancer Care section within the European Partnership for Action Against Cancer (EPAAC).

Dr. Rossi is also the first author of the groundbreaking study “Complementary and Alternative Medicine for Cancer Patients: Results of the EPAAC Survey on Integrative Oncology Centres in Europe,” published in Support Care Cancer in 2014.
